Fighting Prostate Cancer & Making Avaiation History

June 1, 2009 will be a very special day for Colin Steadman as he lifts off his"Slider XL Hovercraft" from Victoria, BC's inner harbor, commencing his journey across Canadian waterways. This endeavour will be the first of its kind anywhere in the world.

Colin has a dual purpose for his trek across canada.  The first is to raise awareness for early detection of prostate cancer.  His father-in-law was diagnosed with the disease in 2007 and unfortunately the cancer is in an advanced stage. Colin hopes to spread the word that prostate cancer is VERY treatable when diagnosed in it's early stages. Colin will also be raising funds for the Prostate Cancer Institute and the new Calgary Urology Centre.

The second reason Colin chose 2009 for his journey is because it is the 100th anniversary of aviation history in Canada.  Colin is an ex-member of the Canadian Air Force.
