Prostate Cancer Institute's 2008 Stampede Breakfast ~July 9

On Wednesday, July 9 the sun shone brightly on the Prostate Cancer Institute's 9th annual Stampede Breakfast.  This years event fed over 750 hungry guests with pancakes cooked and flipped to golden perfection by Calgary's favorite anchorman Darrel Janz and prostate cancer specialist Dr. Bryan Donnelly-
Phyllis Wheaten and friends provided tunes that saw toes tapping under most of the tables.
Many of our guests have benefited from the services offered at the Institute and are living proof that early detection saves lives. Our  many wonderful volunteers ensured everything ran smoothly in typical Calgary Stampede Style.

Our breakfast partners were Northwest Property Management and Eli Lilly which helped us take care of the expenses!!
Thanks to all who came out and made this Stampede breakfast "very edible"!

Calgary Vipers Father's Day Game ~June 15

What could be better on a hot sunny afternoon then enjoying a ball game with "Dad"and getting Dad's hero Gary Carter's autograph!
Thanks to the Calgary Vipers all the fans at the Father's Day game on June 15 were able to learn about the importance of "Early detection" and having annual checkups including PSA tests. Blue bracelets were available for a small donation and most of the Vipers baseball players also supported prostate cancer awareness by wearing the bracelets.

THANKS VIPERS!

Par 4 Prostate Golf Tournament ~June 9

The 2008 sixth annual Par 4 Prostate tournament was held on June 9th at the Lynx Ridge Golf Course.  Despite the record rainfall golfers still enjoyed the day and over $14,000 was raised.
The most amazing part of this tournament has always been the organizing committee. It consists of prostate cancer survivors who want to make a difference and aren't afraid to nudge their friends into donating prizes and sponsorship. Even though this photo shows the guys wearing sunglasses they aren't hiding from the fact that they have all dealt with prostate cancer - their happy to be around and are willing to to share their story and encourage  other men to have annual checkups.

THANKS GUYS AND KEEP SMILING - you make the difference!
